top 10: tv characters

hi wonderful friends!

I'm here with air in my lungs so I'll call it a good day! Still having great visits with my doctor and getting some more helpful tips on managing my depression. Just 6 weeks in but this last session was the best so that makes me hopeful! Thanking all my blogger friends who continuously check on me and show love from even far way!

I am going to get back to daily meetings with y'all because it helps me and gives me something to look forward to. I thought to start back full time this week I would share a few top 10s with y'all. My schedule is changing a bit so I may be posting at night and hoping my morning friends can check it out when they log on every morning. {sorry if this is an inconvenience but just trying it out this week}

On this Tuesday, I am talking all things tv characters. These top 10 are my favorites...I'm not saying they have to be y'alls but they have a special place in my heart. Y'all know by now that I am quite the TV lover and if you didn't check out my TV addict page. Let me in on some that would be on your list or a character that has a special place in your heart!

10. Jesse Pinkman-
I'm sure it's awkward for people to think that a show about drugs is one of my favorites, to make things even more awkward my brother and I actually loved this show together. It will always have a special place in my heart and Jesse is by far my favorite character for the show. He reminds me a lot of Micah, just a lost dude. In alot of ways that is where Micah and I were a lot alike, I'm just hoping I can find my way for the both of us.
"You either run from things or face them, Mr. White."

9. Schmidt-
Ohhh mylanta, I don't think there is a character that makes me laugh more! I can turn on New Girl and within the first few seconds of Schmidt being on my screen, I'm usually laughing out loud. I know New Girl humor isn't for everyone but it definitely reminds of the 2010s version of Friends.
It is really just a witty, brillant character.

8. President Bartlet-
I mean if President Bartlet was real, I would vote for him every term. I am tempted to just write in his name at the election coming up ha. There isn't an episode where he doesn't say something that motivates/inspires me. He is such a great leader and I feel like that's what we're lacking now is just great leaders. Not talking about anyone specific but I just don't see great leaders currently, not my generation, not the generation coming up and not the generation before me. Let's lead, people and follow the great examples from leaders in the past. We care too much what people will say or think if we say strong statements now and that doesn't make a leader. Let's say how we feel and let's be honest. President Bartlet is a great character to watch if you need some motivation!
"In all the talk about democracy, we forget it's not a democracy. It's a republic. People don't make the decisions, they choose the people who make the decisions."

7. Andy Taylor-
I mean if you didn't want to live in Mayberry growing up and have Sheriff Taylor be your dad, then I don't know how to relate to you. This easygoing spirit influenced my childhood tremendously and I think he reminds everyone of their own granddad. Andy is the kind of guy that can pull anyone out of a bad mood and I dream of the day when I can sit on my front porch and strum a guitar with my family while we all sing like they did. Nostalgia feels so good.

6. Raymond Reddington-
I love the complicated relationship with him and Liz on the show, who I really think is his daughter but nothing has been confirmed and no this isn't a spoiler. I have a very conflicted relationship with my dad as well so I can relate. In the end Red cares for Liz above all else which I can't relate to but I certainly admire. I like to think of myself as just as loyal.
"Revenge isn't a passion. It's a disease. It eats at your mind and poisons your soul."

5. Chandler Bing-
Y'all should know I was going to have a FRIEND on here. Chandler is not only my favorite but the one that is most like me. His self-deprecating humor is right in line with mine and his awful luck with things. I would happily be Misses Chandandler Bong. [< if you don't get this, we can't be friends.]

4. Omar Little-
It's another ironic show that my brother and I watched together. One summer when our AC was broke in the house, we spent all summer binging this show and sweating. It is a memory that now I will hold dear and this was our favorite from the show. He does what he wants, when he wants and is never afraid. He describes himself as Robin Hood and I definitely agree, ha but a grown up version of Robin Hood.
"You come at the king, you best not miss."

3. Lorelai Gilmore-
You would think I would've picked Rory since she was the daughter and well, I am a daughter with no babies yet but Lorelai is definitely more my speed. Also, she is the one person that justifies my tv addiction. Yay for netflix brining it back!
"I can be flexible. As long as everything is exactly the way I want it, I'm totally flexible."

2. Coach Taylor-
You realize you're getting older when you find yourself relating to the parent characters more than the teenagers ha! It wasn't a hard decision to put him on the list instead of Tami [his wife] even though I do wholeheartedly relate to her as a coach's wife. The main thing I love about coach is the way he coaches and of course, finding his story relatable is another reason that he is on my list. I just love the whole Friday Night Lights story and he is such a terrific lead character.
"I said you need to strive to be better than everyone else. I didn't say you needed to be better than everyone else. But you gotta try. That's what character is: It's in the try."

1. Lucy Ricardo-
LUCY, Lucy. My first girl crush, I am never afraid to say I have quite the girl crushes but Lucy is easily my first. I was very sick as a kid and didn't get to spend a lot of time outdoors, it just so happened that my parents had every I Love Lucy episode on VHS so I do think that is where my sense of humor came from being that I grew up with her as one of my biggest influences. I love the real Lucy just as much as the Lucy on the show too. She was such an iconic character for women.

Okay, so we just finished The Blacklist and loved it so what should I watch next?!

So glad being here with y'all!

  7. So happy you're back! Chanandler Bong is probably tied for my number one along with Monica Gellar. And you wanna hear the best thing ever? He's really like that in real life!!!! My cousin married his sister a year and a half ago in Ojai, CA and my hubs and I went to the wedding and got to meet him. He did the toast at the wedding and I swear to goodness it was like I was listening to Chandler Bing. His mannerisms are EXACTLY THE SAME. It's like he was just being himself when he was playing Chandler on Friends. Lol.
