holiday break is OVA.

hi wonderful friends! welcome to the new year at Not A Mom!

This isn't really a heart blog as much as a heart UPDATE! I know it's been a few weeks since I've gotten to be with y'all and it was definitely not planned. The holidays were really kicking my butt with my depression and missing my brother so I decided to just take the break to really relax and unplug. I did just that and I have to say it was the best call for me. One thing I love about my blog not being my job and just being my hobby is that I can be real about my depression and say when I need a break and honestly, my little blogging space is normally a nice little escape from it which is why I started it.

That being said, blogging world was covered up with Christmas posts and I knew my heart just wasn't in it this year. I hate making recommendations for anyone but honestly, anyone struggling with depression especially around the holidays...UNPLUG. I had the two weeks off from work and so did Tripp, minus some wrestling matches so it was nice just to be with him and enjoy relaxing together. We took more naps than ever [well he played video games and I napped], cleaned our house and started the first season of Dexter.

My mom had surgery the Monday before Christmas so that occupied some time as well. We had two get together's with Tripp's fam and one with mine. Christmas day in Alabama was full of tornado warnings which took my mind off of missing my brother, for sure ha. Unfortunately, I really didn't even take any pictures to share with y'all over the holiday break. But I am glad to be BACK and I have SO much planned for 2016. Tripp and I declared this year the year of the OTIS's and I love that I can take y'all with me on this journey.

  7. Sometimes it is good to just take a mental break from everything and simply relax. Dexter is addicting so watch out. P.S. thanks for the vampire diaries recommendation- can't stop watching! It doesn't help that both Damon and Stefan are gorgeous! :) Glad you're back!
