Show and Tell Tuesdays: BEAUTY

This non-mom is linking up with some mommy's and showing our beauty routine.
Mine has been slimmed down dramatically in the past 2 or 3 years honestly, I think it has partly to do with depression and no energy [can you say buzzkill?!]. Now when we are going out for something my beauty routine goes back to what it used to be but day-to-day it is reallllly short. Like 30 minutes maybe.

1. Shower- I have the hardest time with finding a shampoo/conditioner I like [I welcome any suggestions], I'm currently using Everstraight Brazilian Keratin Therapy shampoo & conditioner. I don't love it or hate it so I'll use it till empty and probably try something else!

2. After Shower Hair- If I'm going straight which is easiest for me because my hair is stick straight to begin with I ALWAYS spray John Frieda Daily Nourshing Spray, I told y'all in one of my first posts that it is one of my CAN'T live without items. It makes your hair so soft and healthy looking without making it oily [another problem I have]. I have to blow dry it and currently I don't have a volumizer but I need one. I've used L'oreal Paris Volume Filler and I do think it actually works.

3. Face- I've been washing my face with all Simple products because of how easy it is on my skin, I've put my skin through heck and back this past year with harsh chemicals and since I'm only using what the Derm suggested I've decided to take it easy with my washes. I'm using the scrub, the wash and the miceller water cleanser. I'm not happy with the moisturizer I use so when I find one I like I'll post it, the Derm recommend CeraVe.
I normally put a primer on that I've been using to get rid of redness but I don't really think it even works [ha! story of my life with products] and facial concealer which I do love because it is supposed to treat bumps while you wear it and it covers well. My under eyes are really dark too so I use Too Faced for under my eyes and during this summer I am wearing Marcelle BB Cream [its lighter weight for the hot months] and Too Faced Powder to get rid of shine. I top it off with mascara, I LOVEEE mascara so I have several favorites I use, my top two are Arbonne and Maybelline.
Okay, this is where things get real...I have a problem guys..my whole life I have HATED red lips or any color on my lips [it's just me, I think it looks great on everyone else] so I will admit it, I put concealer on my lips. Yikes! Do I think it's the most attractive thing ever? I don't know. I'm most comfortable with nude lips and I haven't been able to find a lipstick or gloss that does the same thing for me. So there, I do it everyday...color me ashamed. Honestly, if y'all have any tips or recommendations please holler at your girl.

So that's it y'all! It sounds way more complicated than it is for real! I have a new Wedding Wednesday coming tomorrow and boy, will I spit some truth on you!

  1. Love reading about what everyone uses! Girl, you need to go to the MAC counter and find you the perfect shade of lipstick and/or lipstick! I can't sleep knowing you use concealer on your lips ;) Have a great day!

  3. Hi Lindsay! I am a nude lip person too! I prefer my Neutrogena moisturizing lip balm with SPF. I tried to find a berry/near my natural lip color, even in the Neutrogena line, but I never know just what shade, and half the time it comes off on my cup! For face cleaning, I use BareMinerals exfoliating cleanser. The cleanser is powder - you activate with with water - this stuff powers off lotion, sweat, sunscreen, makeup, and leaves your skin so soft and smooth and soothed! No foundation for me - just a good thick lotion (Vaseline Intensive Rescue Advanced Repair) and Neutrogena Ultrasheer 30SPF Sunscreen. How bare bones can you get!?

    Thanks for sharing!

  6. I just found you from the link up (I didn't participate, I've been to busy to blog lately, boo!)! I love your blog title - I'm a "not a mom" newlywed, too! haha. Anyway, have you tried Biologe or Amplify shampoo and conditioner? I was a faithful user of both as a child then I went to college and switched to cheap stuff, much to my great-aunt's dismay. When I moved back to my parents' after college, I used Biologe again and had forgotten how great it makes my hair feel! Well, then marriage happened and I was trying to be frugal so I bought cheap shampoo and conditioner... My aunt found out recently and gave me 2 giant bottles of Amplify, and I can promise I will never get lazy and go back to cheap stuff again. My hair is healthier, requires less product to get clean/style, and just looks so much better.

    1. Haha yay! Glad I found another one for my non-mom club! I haven't tried Biologe or Amplify but guarantee I will so stay tuned! I agree I get lazy so much and end up buying like Herbal Essences or something like that and my hair goes to crap fast. Ha! Excited to try it tho, keep the recommendations coming!
