friday, friday.

Hi beautiful friends! I haven't been this happy to see a Friday in a while! This week has been a when it rains, it pours kinda week.

Quick pup update: Beau is on several pain meds but he should heal up. He wants to shake his head so bad but it just causes him too much pain for his poor ear. Thanks for all the good thoughts sent our way!

So now, I'm here with some friday favorites and excited for a new week with y'all next week! I have some changes coming up on the blog so stay tuned!

FAVORITE ENTERTAINMENT-
Tripp and I are a huge AHS fan, we started watching last season for Freak Show and then binged watched all of the seasons over Christmas break. So STOKED for this! Plus Schmidty from New Girl is gonna be on it!

FAVORITE PURCHASE-
My asics! Got them yesterday, y'all and they are SO comfy! I haven't worked out with them yet but I am actually excited too.

FAVORITE WANT-
Okay it's serious...I have MAJOR regret over not ordering the Rachel Zoe Box of Style for Fall after Amanda at meet @ the barre told her readers too after the summer box, then yesterday she received her fall box. DYING. I immediately cancelled my fabfitfun subscription and ordered the winter box.

Ugh....I could've had this hat...

FAVORITE STRESS RELIEF-
I had been wanting an adult coloring book for a few months now and Mom found one at TJ Maxx. I LOVE IT y'all. I highly recommend it!

FAVORITE QUOTE-
This is my week.

Thankful for y'all and having my little corner of the internet! See you back Monday for a full week at not a mom!

life update with a side of pinning.

Y'all! Whew this has been a dooooooozy of a week and it's just now WEDNESDAY! I am linking up today for some pinning but first I wanted to update y'all on where I've been and my holiday weekend.

I spent the holiday weekend with family, MAJOR family time! Friday, my cousin came over to stay the evening with me so we had girl time! {think pretty little liars, nail polish, deep talks, the usual} Saturday was FOOTBALL, we had my parents over to watch the Auburn game because we are BIG auburn fans and then when they left Tripp watched the bama game and I fell asleep {booooo! bama}

Sunday, my dad's side of the family had a labor day/August birthday bash which involved water slides, moon walks and a shaved ice food truck...no lie, they know how to throw a party, y'all!
 {mother, father and me!}

Monday, Tripp's granddad came down so we had a nice labor day lunch with his family {no pics, poot!}.

So that concludes my holiday weekend, so why wasn't I with y'all yesterday....well every morning when I wake up I walk the two big dogs to their fence outside for the day...as I was walking them in my OWN yard and both on a LEASH, the neighbors Rottweiler ran over and  JUMPED on my chocolate lab while he was still with me and started mauling him. It was horrifying to watch as I screamed but couldn't get him off of Beau and Beau could barely defend himself. It was a good 10-15 minutes before I could get my dogs away and inside enough to survive..literally the Rott would've killed beau otherwise. So needless to say, yesterday was a work half a day and try to get home to get through the day. The pups are our fur babies so it was pretty traumatizing. Then this morning Tripp and I had to take a day off of work just to take beau to the vet where we had to leave him to get sedated and see what needed to be done. SO that brings us to now and how I've missed y'all and how I hope the rest of the week is peaceful!

So back to the link up with Going the Distance and Jessi's Design, what have I been pinning?! {all the pictures are linked}

speaking of pups, how cute is this print?! NEED!

Show and Tell Tuesdays.

So I am taking a break from pinning on Tuesdays to link up with some of my favorite bloggers and bring you a non-mom version of Show and Tell Tuesday..

My hibiscus trees are blooming beautifully!

 It looks like once upon a time the homeowners had a small garden, I hope to bring that back maybe in the fall.
My baby, Tracy Chapman {Fast Car, get it?!}. She's everything!

This is on the opposite side of the flower bed that Tripp ripped out a few weeks ago. I'm thinking of getting rid of everything but the full green shrubs. What do y'all think?!

 Our back yard will definitely be missed whenever we decide to move one day, it is huge. The dream is to fence it all in eventually. I had just cut the grass, see the lawn mower?!

^^^^ Our patio needs some work. It normally stays messy until we have guests over or we decide to grill out. I have ideas but the outdoor is Tripp's area so I shall let the inner decor OCD diva go.

Tripp didn't want me to include this flower bed but it can really be beautiful when it flourishes, right now it has some grass and weeds. It's also a butterfly haven which is really sweet!

^^^ This is a tulip tree that blooms for like 4 weeks in the whole year but when it does...it is BEAUTIFUL!

I think the plan is to get rid of most of the back yard shrubs because they have just taken over. We think our porch got hit by the tornadoes that hit Birmingham in 2011 so it needs some handyman work to it too.

That's all folks! If y'all have any ideas or suggestions for our landscaping tasks please comment with them {we're self-admittedly young and dumb}.. check back tomorrow for a twist to the normal Wednesday.
